I recently had someone send me a photo. It took me a second to recognize the girl in the photo. She was pale, with dark hair and seemed to be a little timid, and a lot curious.

The subject in question, was me. As some of you might know, long before I ever found my “kink home” with Wicked Eden I worked as a fetish model and porn star under the name Raina Verene. I shot for a plethora of different websites – both vanilla and kinky – and had a blast doing it.

The random appearance of this photo got me thinking about then, now, and the progression in between.

When I was just beginning to explore my interests in BDSM, I first self-identified as a submissive. The majority of my relationships involved in D/s in one manner or another – some were very casual, and others were full out 24/7 dynamics. I totally embraced my role as a bottom, never thought twice about it and had some excellent (and, sometimes, not so excellent) experiences. At the time, it never occurred to me that I should ever try topping someone, or that I would ever enjoy it in any capacity.

That obviously has changed. I’ve had more than one boy tell me that they can’t imagine I ever had a submissive bone in my body (this never fails to amuse me).

While my days in service have long since passed , I’m still extraordinarily grateful and pleased with my experiences as a bottom/slave/submissive. My time in that role has given the ability to understand the psychology behind submission – what it means on different levels, and all the little details that make a scene both memorable and meaningful. It allows me the understanding and foresight to navigate my way through a bottom’s head and create an amazing catharsis for us both.

Those of you who know me, are most likely aware that I have a slight sadistic streak…

Okay, perhaps that’s a bit of an understatement. Everyone knows by now that nothing makes me happier than watching someone writhe, squirm and moan, not quite sure if that want it to stop, or never stop.

I enjoy many different kind of pain play and very recently have begun studying the art of needle play and play piercing. This particular activity intrigues me on a lot of levels;

First, as a tool, needles are very precise, even delicate. I find them to be very esthetically pleasing. Imagine that thin, silver little sliver sliding through tender flesh. Just thinking about it brings me all kinds of joy.

Second, it combines two of my favorite things – pain play, and fear play. It’s fairly common to have a fear of needles. Trypanophobia, is, in fact, one of the most prevalent types of phobias in the United Sates (nearly 13% of all American adults claim to have some level of trypanophobia). Being the truly evil bitch that I am, knowing your afraid and suffering all for the purpose of making me smile, quite frankly, turns me on.

That being said, Needle play is considered a form of edge play, and makes for a very intense scene. It is not something to be taken lightly and both players, top and bottom should be equally educated on the process. I, personally, would not recommend this sort of activity for either a novice or a person who does not posses masochist tendencies.

I want to take a brief moment to discuss an extremely important topic; my name.

It’s Noel Knight.

For some reason that is far beyond my comprehension, people seem to find it extraordinarily difficult to pronounce (and, at times, even remember it) correctly.

So, allow me to instruct you:

My name is Noel. As in, no L (or Noelle). You know, like merry Christmas. It is not pronounced Knoll. I am not an open expanse of landscape. No one had assassinated a president on me. It is not Noelee….like, Noel with a Y on the end, rhyming with Kelly (I don’t know how you idiots came up with that one).

My name is also not Nicole, Nathalie or Nessie (all of which are names I am called on a regular basis). How one makes the jump from Noel to Nessie defies all logic. Seriously, people – it’s a single syllable. How hard is that?

And, for the last fucking time, I am not Resse Witherspoon. I know, I know, I’m practically a carbon copy of Ms. Legally Blonde but let’s get one thing strait. I don’t look like her – she looks like me. The next person who stops, stares at me for a second or two and then says, “hey, do you know who you look like?” gets hurt….and I don’t mean in the fun way.

So I’ve been super busy this week being the hot bitchy cam girl. I’m always amazed by the requests I get for cam shows. Perhaps one day I’ll make a list of all the sick and twisted things people ask me to do for them. Sometimes, I’ll indulge them – if I’m in a giving mood and other times I’ll just just laugh and pick their brains until I’ve reduced them to a quivering gooey pile of boy-mush.
